These are my thumbnail sketches for the first illustration I did. I didn't like this one as much but I wanted too see if I could think of nice ideas with it.
These are my thumbnail sketches for the second illustration I did. I thought I could think of better ideas with this illustration so my development will be something from this sheet.
This is my idea development. I just played around with moving the type and V&A logo until i came up with one I liked.
This is my final design, the size it will be and everything placed here. I decided to make the V&A logo slanted because it fits better with the poster.
Poster I made the background black and created the first zig zags. I did this using the pen tool and joining it all together so I could colour it in.
I then added the pink triangle underneath the white zig zag. I did this by just drawing a triangle.
Type in. I just copied the blitz type from my illustration. And I copied the tube information from the V&A website, so I knew it was correct. I then downloaded a vector of the underground logo and just placed it in but that information. I then found the opening times and date from their website so I put that in. I choose easy simple typefaces for these so people could easily read them and they stand out enough. Then the club to catwalk I just used the same typeface so it all flows, but added and outline of white so it made the blue stand out from the pink. I just copied the V&A logo from my illustration, I scaled it up a little and put it at an angle going with the zig zag.
Finally I placed my sillhouetts in. I just copied them from my illustration.
This is my final outcome. I think it's good because information that is most important stands out how it should. Also the pink triangles drag your eyes in and draw you to the center of the poster. If I was to do it again I might just play around with the colours more and see what other outcomes I could get.
