Robert Brownjohn

Robert Brownjohn – Street Level

This is a black and white picture of a cafe umbrella. The type is a very bold, and stands out well even in black and white. The letters and cut out of a white strip along the bottom. This type is a continuous word going round. All the kerning is even. The photo has been taken with a straight perspective, like you were sitting on a chair at a nearby table.

All this type is in capitals; the word ‘danger’ is bolder than the ‘electricity’. The kerning between the letters is spaced out so it is easy to read. All this type has been centered to it can be seen. The photo is taken from face on so you can see only the top of the object.

This photo is very dark from the colors. The sign is in bold white lettering, so it stands out and it’s easy to read. The spacing isn’t very even because it has been hand drawn. All the type is aligned to the left too. This photo has been taken very close up so that the type takes up the whole photo.

This was type has been created by someone drawing on a dirty surface; you can see this because the letters are all slightly a different style.  The kerning and spacing isn’t very even because it has been done by hand. This photo has been taken looking up to the type, at and angle too.

This photo has a lot of different type on it. It has logos of shops too. The ‘rock’ type is getting bigger as you read it, each character goes up a size. The ‘rolls-royce is more of a
